Why Choose Single Trip Travel Insurance?
The maximum trip length available depends on your age, destination and underwriting criteria. The following maximum trip lengths are available, subject to underwriting criteria and the policy terms and conditions:
- If you are aged 55 or under: You may be eligible to travel for up to 18 months on the Alpha or World First Longstay policies, subject to the policy terms, conditions and underwriting criteria. This applies to Longstay policies only and does not apply to Annual Multi-Trip policies.
- If you are aged 65 or under: You can travel for up to 94 days on any one trip to Europe or worldwide destinations. For UK trips, the maximum trip length is 31 days.
- If you are aged 66–84: You can travel for up to 45 days on any one trip to Europe and 31 days on any one trip to all other destinations.
- If you are aged 85 or over: You can travel for up to 31 days on any one trip, regardless of destination.
Cover for cancellation starts as soon as you take out your policy, giving you immediate protection if your plans change.

Available for UK residents aged 18 and over. Certain restrictions apply based on age or health.
All Single Trip travel insurance policies at Lighthouse include:
- Cancellation Cover: Available up to £10,000 per person, subject to underwriting criteria and the policy terms and conditions. The policies and cancellation cover limits available to you may vary depending on factors such as your age and, where applicable, the outcome of your medical screening. Please refer to your policy documents for full details of the cover selected.
- Trip Length Flexibility: Cover from 1day to 18 months, is available. Limits may vary depending on your age, destination or medical condition— full details confirmed when you get a quote.
- Emergency Medical Cover: Up to £10 million for emergency medical care while abroad, if medically necessary.
- All medical conditions considered: We consider cover for over 11,000 medical conditions, including cancers, respiratory and heart conditions
- Cover That Fits Your Budget: Our quote system will only present you with quotes that meet your needs, so you can choose a policy which best suits you
- Activities Included as Standard: We cover over 100 leisure sports and activities
- Holiday Protection: Includes cover for lost, stolen or delayed baggage, cancellation, and lost money—for added peace of mind while you’re away.
