Cruise Extension

There’s nothing like the feeling of relaxing on deck and waking up in a new destination! Cruises are a fantastic, stress-free way to travel — and with our Cruise Extension, you’ll have extra peace of mind at sea.

Our Cruise Extension includes protection for things like missed ports, cabin confinement, and unused excursions. It’s designed especially for cruise lovers, including those travelling with medical conditions.

Sail away knowing you’re well covered. Full details, including cover limits and exclusions, are available in your policy documents.

Why Choose a Cruise Extension?

Important: Standard travel insurance policies do not cover cruises. To be protected on your cruise holiday, you must add the Cruise Extension to your Single Trip or Annual Multi Trip policy.

This optional extra provides additional cover tailored to common cruise-related risks. Here’s what’s included:

  • Missed Departure: Up to £1,000 if you miss your sailing.
  • Cabin Confinement: Up to £200 per 24 hours, max £1,000 if you’re confined to your cabin (e.g. due to illness)
  • Delayed Cruise Attire: Up to £500 if your formal clothing is delayed.
  • Lost/Stolen Cruise Attire: Up to £1,000.
  • Missed Ports Due To Itinerary Change: Up to £300 per missed port, max £1,500.
  • Policy Duration: Cover applies throughout your Single Trip policy or up to 45 days of cruise travel within your Annual Multi Trip policy period (total across all trips).

Cover is subject to policy terms, conditions, and exclusions — such as medical certification for cabin confinement, or evidence for any missed departure or loss claims.

Travel Suggestions For A Cruise Trip

This cruise is all about breathtaking natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. You’ll sail past towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and charming fishing villages.

The pace is relaxed, the scenery can be enjoyed right from the ship (ideal if mobility is a concern), and excursions are often gentle, including scenic train rides and low-key village walks.

This classic route combines culture, sunshine, and world-famous cities like Barcelona, Rome, and Marseille. It’s like ticking off a bucket list without the hassle of multiple flights.

Everything’s taken care of on board—no unpacking and repacking. Plus, there are usually plenty of accessible excursions and cultural tours, and medical facilities on larger cruise ships are very well-equipped.

This river cruise sails through the heart of Europe, offering a more intimate experience with smaller ships and direct access to cities like Vienna, Budapest, and Passau.

The calm river waters mean no sea sickness, and excursions tend to be easy-going, with plenty of time to relax onboard or take in the history at your own pace.
