Firstly, we define a cruise as a trip involving a sea or ocean voyage of more than 48 hours duration and including stops at more than one port where transportation and accommodation is primarily on an ocean-going passenger carrying liner, ship or river cruiser. If this sounds like your holiday, then you will need to purchase our optional cruise extension to be covered for your trip. The extension will include cover for the entire duration of your Single Trip policy and up to 45 days worth of cruising cover throughout the duration of your Annual Multi Trip policy (if you purchase our optional extra).

When purchasing an Annual Multi Trip policy, you select the date you want your cover to begin, which can be up to 31 days before your first trip. You have the option to start your policy immediately on the day of purchase or schedule it to activate from the first day of your upcoming trip.

However, while starting your policy on your trip’s departure date might seem convenient, it’s important to consider that you wouldn’t be covered for cancellation costs if something happens between the purchase date and the start date of your policy.
